"There is something you must always remember...

You are braver than you believe,

stronger than you seem,

and smarter than you think."

— Winnie the Pooh

Whether your child is struggling behaviorally, socially, or experiencing school-related difficulties, having the support of a child therapist can help.

I provide a warm and compassionate space for children to freely express themselves.  My goal is to work closely with the child's parents and any other important relationships (teachers and other helping professionals) in their life . As a parent, you are the expert on your child and are therefore an important part of the counseling process.  Together we will create a support system for the child.

Children often do not have the words or understanding to explain the way they feel. I help to expand "feeling" vocabulary and develop coping skills. They benefit from creative approaches to help them learn to identify their feelings, manage behavior and big emotions,  and restore balance. My integrative approach blends art, play and mindfulness with more traditional evidenced-based practices, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TFCBT).

One of my favorite parts about supporting children is hearing about how they begin to use the skills they learn in our sessions out in their everyday life.  The therapeutic relationship that I create with each child, builds a foundation of safety and trust.  When a child feels safe it allows for healing and learning to unfold. I am here to support you and your child, making sure to highlight their strengths and work on their challenges in a fun and loving way.
